Empowering Conversations: A Special Session with Aubrey Carter from All Ears English

/

On October 28th, the Be the Voice of Girls program welcomed Aubrey Carter from All Ears English for an engaging virtual session. This event was a part of our ongoing series, designed to empower young girls by helping them improve their English language skills through interactive learning experiences.

Meet Aubrey Carter

Aubrey is a dedicated English teacher with a passion for teaching both in-person and online. She works with All Ears English, sharing her expertise with learners worldwide. Her warm approach and enthusiasm immediately set a positive tone for the session.

A Session Full of Learning and Fun

The theme of the session was “Food and Dining Etiquette,” focusing on vocabulary and phrases used when dining out in English-speaking countries. Aubrey guided the participants through an exploration of how to navigate different dining settings—from casual cafés to elegant restaurants. She covered various expressions, from “How many in your party?” to “We’d like the check when you get a minute,” teaching the girls how to respond confidently in English.

One of the highlights of the session was the interactive role-play, where participants practiced ordering meals, asking about specials, and learning how to politely ask for the bill. It was inspiring to see the girls embrace the chance to use English in real-life scenarios, showing their growing comfort and proficiency.

Encouraging Confidence through Language

Aubrey emphasized that English is a global language, giving the girls the confidence to use it not just in the classroom but in everyday situations. She encouraged them to see English as a tool for connection, whether they are traveling, attending international events, or simply engaging with new people.

The session also included a discussion about cultural norms, like the roles of family members in cooking, which led to a lively exchange about similarities and differences between Turkish and American households. Aubrey’s relatable anecdotes added a personal touch, making the learning experience even more engaging.

Looking Ahead

This session was part of a broader initiative to provide participants with consistent opportunities to interact with experienced educators like Aubrey Carter, who bring unique perspectives and teaching methods.

The Be the Voice of Girls program is grateful to Aubrey and All Ears English for their dedication and support. We look forward to more enriching sessions that not only teach language but also inspire confidence and cultural understanding.
